Helen B. Marshall, Pastor

I grew up in Ft. Walton Beach on the panhandle of Florida and moved to Orlando when I was in high school. One afternoon after school, while waiting for a ride home, another student sat down next to me and shared the Spiritual Four Laws with me. I prayed to receive Christ right then and there and began the most wonderful journey of my life!
When I was 19 years old I was at a garage sale and found a wooden plaque with a sail boat carved on it with Jeremiah 29:13 and the first part of verse 14 written on it which said, "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart, I will be found by you, says the LORD..."
I can still remember how I felt reading this verse for the first time. It marked my heart. The concept of finding God intrigued me. I just didn’t understand why He would require so much of me or anyone else for that matter, simply to find Him.
So I bought the plaque and placed it in a prominent place everywhere I lived, in my college dorm room, my first apartment, and each successive apartment and home thereafter.
Finally, 11 years later, when I was 30, I embarked on a whole-hearted journey to find out what this verse meant - the seeking and searching for a God who was willing to be found. Little did I know how this verse would dramatically impact and forever change my life.
Another 34 years has come and gone and I'm still seeking and searching for Him with my whole heart. I have to tell you, I have loved and hold dear everything I have found!
In 1998 I enrolled in Faith Christian University and in 2001 received a BA in Bible and Theology. In June 2000 I started traveling with Fire to the Nations on short-term mission trips to the Philippians, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, South Africa, Haiti, Russia and Peru. In a very short time I got a real world view of the great need for Jesus Christ, the world over. In 2002 I began attending Missions Church Orlando and serving under the leadership of Pastor Dave Bush. In August 2012 I became the Senior Pastor of Missions Church Orlando.
I've been happily married to my husband John since 1983. We have a dog named JJ and we love living in Orlando! There's no place we'd rather be.

Dave & Lissa Bush - Founding Pastor & Overseer

Pastor Dave was born in Orlando, Florida and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his Master of Arts in Theology and Doctorate from Faith Christian University and has served in ministry for over 30 years.
Lissa graduated from Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership. She has ministered in Children's Ministry and other capacities for over 20 years.
They both have a heart for missions and reaching a lost world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Pastor Dave began his missionary work in Los Angeles, California shortly after he was saved. This trip deeply impacted his heart with the understanding of how great the Father's love was for not only himself but for all people. Since that time Pastor Dave has traveled extensively to South America and Asia, working with and encouraging local pastors. Jeremiah 3:15 is an apt description of these two, "And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Dr. Leon van Rooyen - Apostolic Oversight

The ministry of Dr. Leon van Rooyen has spanned more than 40 years and 5 continents. He has served as a missionary, pastor, teacher, evangelist, church planter, relief worker, apostolic leader, and is the Founding President of Global Ministries and Relief. In everything that he does, Dr. Leon promotes a love for God, a loyalty to the Church, and a passion for souls. He is committed to raising up servant-leaders in the Body of Christ. Global Ministries and Relief (GMR) was birthed out of this vision.
A vision for the masses and the individual Dr. Leon’s ministry proves that one can have a global vision without losing sight of the individual. World missions are never far from his mind, but individual needs are always close to his heart.

Dr. Leon desires that every believer be equipped and mobilized for the purpose of the harvest and building the glorious Church. He wants to see leaders reach their full potential in impacting their communities through growing and healthy churches.
